I made it go away

:)

I thought it was less inappropriate here than there but I was most probably wrong, which is why I wrote that and won't put it anywhere.

Just got home from work and was looking for my nightly Seti fix.
Guess I'll have to go to bed without.

And nothing on the IST status page that would indicate a scheduled outage.

Well, tomorrow is still Friday in Berkeley, so I hope they shall reboot it for the weekend. And hopefully it stays up.

It always pays to have a weeks worth of Seti cache. My machines are set to have 2 days worth as standard plus another 3 days as the extra.

Wish that was possible. Best I can cache is a days worth, or actually a bit less, due to hard per-CPU/GPU limits of 100.

With the limits getting a weeks worth of work is impossible if you play "by the rules" i'll probably run out around Free Practice 2 time here ;-) , couple of years ago this was the "norm" , no point in geting stressed about it shi#e happens :-)

Yeah, I don't have much use for gaming the system to get around the limits. Argue, yes, cheat, no. Given the whole rescheduling thing, that may seem like a strange statement, but true ...

With the relatively low end machines I run, a limit of 100 or whatever is not too onerous. Although we have never been without work for more than 72 hours to my recollection ever. But even if you run out of work, your RAC is still being topped up with pendings kicking in. No doubt someone will prove me wrong somewhere :-))

I can always pull the plug when the well runs dry on a box; given I'm spending ~$250 usd/mo in juice running these beasts, they need to work when on ...

Not like some that run 3 cards per machine

Think it's been a couple of years now 750ti's were cutting edge Chris and @ 75w per card not exactly power hungry are they ;-).

Could run 4 cards per each xeon machine just one slot is coverd by the cards and can't be arsed to pee around with risers or pci-e extention cables ( i've got a life ) ;-)

Actually, there aren't that many (if any) 750tis that are single slot. I know all mine (EVGA) take 2, unfortunately ...
Just got done building an expansion case so I could add a third GPU per box to my three heavy hitter HP boxes.

All of my 750's are double slot just the way the MOBO is layed out one of the cards covers one of the x-8 slots .
All my cards are MSI wern't going to mess with differnt vendors for the same card + found a very good deal on ebay for them brand new .

Seti's back up but should i run " a book" for how long ;-)
