Since boinc cannot contact the preferences server, is there anything that can be changed in the client_state.xml file or another xml file to indicate you now want MBs?

I suspect if there is, it would not change back to not wanting MBs until the preferences server came back on line.

My 9 rigs are just carrying on, business as usual on the Boinc side of things.
Daily driver just reported 3, got 3 in return.
So, all is still well on the kitty front lines.

I suppose that any efforts to access main accounts to edit anything might be not possible until later today when the outage is completed and things stabilize.

I got up at 7 am PDT and checked both Seti and Einstein and I was unable to reach either site. Now things seem to be fixed just in time for today's outrage.

Life is as good as it gets in crunching land. Last week I turned one of my boxes over to Einstein because I wanted to crunch more LIGO data. My 2 day cache of Seti data got pushed to the end of the line because of the short deadlines of the new data. When the Einstein server crashed this weekend and I ran out the host switched over to finishing up the on board Seti. I was down about 1/2 hour of work there when today's outrage started and it looked like it would go dry, then Einstein came back and new work appeared. Not a beat was missed but it was close.

Besides science these projects can be a source of excitement.

So it's that time of the week when the end is nigh.

Kinda quiet here.

Gotta love it. Second power outage of the great blizzard today smoked my 2000 va UPS. Sigh ... This is getting ridiculous ... New UPS in about 10 days, I guess. In the meantime, there's mini-UPSs wired to car batteries sitting here all over the man-cave...
