I see the status page hasn't updated yet. Things must be caddywhompus behind the curtain. See Bruno. See Bruno Run. Run Bruno Run. Just get it going right, so we don't have a Thorsday outage. |

Marketing promised it WHEN????!!!! Oh, I have been playing it since its launch in April. I was just referring to update 5 coming in so damn slow that I wouldn't play it anytime soon at that time. It's in now. About to be flabbergasted at what they broke this time. ;-) |

That can't be a real system, too clean on the inside. No speck of dust anywhere. Impossible. |

Posting on my lunch break... Working the polls for this election. :-) I hope that too :) Okay - so being driven a little up the wall by phonecalls from 00001 000 001 How does someone get a number like that and how can I drive THEM nuts? *pause for long thought processing* if you're going to say ring my phone provider *sweet psychotic smile* ... please do so from a safe distance. I have been dropped by BT Mumbai so often this evening I'm suspecting they're worried I'm calling about my broadband again... or that I'm a tad rabid. If I listen to one more automated message they will be right, and I will be. |

Maybe it's that new ice-air filtration system I've heard about. |

@Annie - use Caller Display - and don't answer!! I usually do Chris :/ don't know WHAT I was thinking but... *render self to heady evolutionary height of pond slime* I know it wasn't something we'd call an intelligent life form that answered the first stupid call :/ Check out these examples of that phone number, and whatever you do, do NOT call them back, it may cost you a fortune. (known scam crap)... Thanks ET :) I will and I won't... in that order. Evening Julie and celttooth and Gary, and Zapped and David and TL and Ageless and Dr Who Fan and WezH and Richard and Aurora Borealis and Sirius and Supersleuther and *reduce purpleness with deep breath* everybody else :) |

Well, we've got a Server Status Page with a standing outage notice - that's progress, it wasn't there when I went out to dinner. Hi Annie - is it my imagination (I don't think so), or have the number of spam recorded calls gone up exponentially over the last couple of months? They keep calling my fax line too, which must be fun for them. My CallerID phone died while I was in Budapest, so I got a new one - which seems to be capable of displaying a much greater range of numbers. Everything from apparently genuine local numbers, to 001441255814185 - all spam. Leaving them on speakerphone while you get on with life is fun too. |

Its definitely on the rise :/ Have to run intercept before my mum gets to the phone or the results are disastrous :[ Well... posted a comment on http://00001000001.called.me.uk/00001000001-50604#comments just awaiting moderator approval before it goes up :) wonder if I'll pass...? :) 7 hours outrage now. Maybe it will come back before Christmas :-) I think it's because I finally crunched enough to earn a badge... it was straight after that that things kind of... broke... |

We have that fun spam here as well. Phone numbers such as 001234567890 calling you, or for a while just 001. They would call my mom and always start with "Do you speak English?". So the one time I picked up the phone there, I told them that yes I did speak English and that I'd informed the police of their scam. That was the last time she was called by these creepers. :P As for Seti, glad that I increased my cache to 5 days yesterday (prior to the download debacle). I may not have 5 days worth of GPU work, but at least enough for BOINC to work through till tomorrow if need be. And with my computer going into hibernation just before I am off to bed, BOINC won't be able to do any work then anyway. :) |

Try BT Call Barring feature or this No, I'm not falling for that one. This isn't *my* problem, it's a system-wide problem, and needs tackling at source. Just as every time I buy a new product or service, why does the modern world expect *me* to do all my own research, whether it's getting my roof fixed ('ask a friend to recommend a reliable contractor'), buying electricity ('use a price comparison website, but not one funded by commission from the limited range of companies they recommend'), or finding a lawyer to sue the pants off the last shyster lawyer who I used to sue... - 'nuff said. |

One last thought before the beer leads me off to bed. Britain - aided and abetted by internet technology - seems to be reverting to a Dickensian prototype of spivs and con-artists. And half a century of Consumer Protection and Fair Trade is powerless to stop it. OK, that's worked it out of my system. G'night all. |
