You might think that somebody in charge would maybe try to hand the country back to the Taliban in a more controlled fashion.
I personally think this is gonna ride on Biden's shoulders for a long long time, especially after the Taliban plans and carries out their next terrorist attack.

For many centuries Afghanistan has been ruled by a small group of "warlords" (aka "thugs"), just about every "colonial power" has failed to remove them from their embedded nature, and the people are so cowed by this long history of brutal suppression they have become incapable of resisting. Most recently "the west" have tried, but, in my book gave up far too soon thinking they had done the job of removing such a deeply engrained culture of being oppressed.

. . Methinks the test was essentially and fatally flawed. The "food" in the puzzle portion should have made squeaking noises, smelt like mice and moved furtively around in the puzzle. The numbers would have been reversed. If anyone doubts that try telling it to the mice my red headed mate has disposed of ... <shrug>

Some cats are mousers, and some run and hide from mice. All depends if mommy taught them to hunt.

Mine is a mouser.
After she catches one, she brings it into the house to show me, and to play with it.
Then gets careless and it gets away, and I have to find it. :(

The ones I had would look at them from on top of the couch, laugh at them, yawn and roll over to continue to sleep.
