For the past month or so, I've noticed an issue with total credit being missing 500k & on checking the accounts pages of the various projects I run, find 2 projects not listed: - WCG & CAS@Home.

I've just been on FreeDC stats site & have found 2 members on team of which both are myself.

1 is the normal project list & the second has the missing projects. On all projects the e-mail address is the same, so cannot understand why this has happened. I also noted that both have different cross project identifiers.

How can I get that other identifier to merge with the main one?

I also noted that both have different cross project identifiers.

That's the culprit!

From the BOINCstats FAQ:
Why do I have duplicate/split accounts in the BOINC combined stats?

The cause of this is the CPID, Cross Project IDentifier. Every project assigns a new user a CPID. It is partly based on the email address you used to sign up, the other part is random.

The CPID is used by BOINCstats to identify a user across projects.

Whenever you sign up with a new project, you'll get a new account on BOINCstats because the CPID is new.

What to do to make sure you'll end up with one BOINCstats account:

  • Use the exact same email address for every project.
  • Run at least one system with all projects, or one system with project A and B, and one system with project B and C. If there is a project that runs isolated from the other projects, its CPID with never line up.

When you join a new project, this project assigns you a new CPID. This CPID can either change to the same CPID as the other projects, or the other projects change (one by one) to the new CPID.

It is impossible for me to manually edit your accounts to create one account. It would take to much time too do this for everyone. Just wait a while, and your accounts will line up automatically.

One last thing, which is not too important, but nice for the stats: use the same username across projects, otherwise you get a username like 'Al Bundy @ SAH / Al Bundy @ Predictor / A. Bundy @ CPDN'.

As for the reason, see also Cross-project identification at the BOINC wiki.

Gundolf

Is the "Oldest CPID associated to an email address, for active projects", no longer applying? Over the years, I've added, subtracted, detached, attached, but always landed back with the same CPID [that was generated off the ever same volunteer crunching email address].

Interesting in that is, that should anyone ever "borrow" your email address to register on a new project, the CPID of that would never be able to take over (at least I'm convinced that it could not, and if it could, then there would be a weakness... credit hijacking of dormant accounts, of former friends e.g.). Not likely I'd think.

Thanks Gundolf. just after posting the question, I accessed all the projects I could & found that all have the same user name & e-mail addy.

Not sure if that helped any, but now see both projects under the main list in the stats sites. Still not showing up yet on the different projects account pages, but assume that they will eventually.

Please change my BOINC CPID:-

from 79e3b208d2325acf359e69d886554599
to 06d7e40ae02ef3b9d9fea66ddda7a29d

I don't care how it's done.
I don't care who does it.
I don't care if it's "complicated".

It's been wrong for too long.
I am not happy.
My guess is that many other people have a similar issue.

(BTW same email, same machine, user name, same everything ... hints about e.g., "Merge computers by name" [I'd love to do it properly], "overlapping dates" fails etc. Not my problem.)
(BTW 2 http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/host/list/0/0/3d49a0b5bf4b51694b32eb1e2a71b112 really! I do not have and never have had 41 Hosts.
