Hello,

I downloaded BOINC 7.0.40 only to find that it supports Intel GPU detection. I would like to know if there is a test project that uses the Intel GPU?

Thanks

I think you'll find that v7.0.40 is very much a 'work in progress' as far as Intel GPU (OpenCL) support is concerned.

For example, changeset [1a76e1a4] seems to be a critical component, and it was only added 12 hours after v7.0.40 was made available for download.

As far as projects are concerned, I think the answer so far will be 'no' - unless you feel able to write one yourself? But from what I've read, it shouldn't be too difficult to convert existing OpenCL code to run on the Intel platform. Look for projects which have existing OpenCL applications, adequate resources, a wide user base, and a history of open Beta testing. They will probably be the first to appear.

None that I know of, only rumours of one coming at Einstein but only after the client supporting one. All will still have to be developed. I've just been informed that there's also a Seti OpenCL application going to be tested within the next couple of weeks.

I'm looking forward to seeing Intel GPU applications coming to keep both my NVidia GPU and Intel GPU crunshing! So I'll be able to use my PC at 100% for BOINC.

Someone who was quick to download 7.0.40 and ran it on an Intel with the HD4000 GPU had it identified as a ATI_GPU, but had it ask work as an intel_gpu

I've seen at least one other typo like that looking through the changenotes, that Bug might have already been fixed with:

When using coproc_debug and there is no Intel GPU, there is also no mention of not finding an intel library, like it does for Nvidia and ATI/AMD GPUs:

No, but that might confuse people who have an Intel CPU. And people are easily confused already. ;-)
