Volunteer supplied posts about project outages will continue to appear here. Please keep it on topic, post as much about the project outage itself or return of the project only. Want to have an in-depth discussion? There's a whole forum outside this thread that you can start a new thread in.

May we please ask that when you post, to do so without adding your signature? With thanks.

To do so, when you make a post in this thread, uncheck the "Add my signature to this reply" and then make your post. Your signature will still be enabled on other posts, just not this one. You can also edit your post during an hour and take the signature out.
We ask that you post without a signature to keep the purpose of this thread clear: News about project outages, not about how many credits you have or what team you want us to join.
It's not that difficult to do and it gives the moderators even less work to do, as we don't have to remove your post. So please...

Validator is down on Milkyway. Issue has been escalated directly to the Senior Project Admin. No ETA but it is being worked on.

Work on the validator was delayed due to Astrophysics department wide finals. We expect further work on this matter today as our student staff finish their exams

climateapps2 at Oxford has been down since some time Saturday so Climate prediction dot net not available.

I've just received the following update from Jonathan:

On Saturday there was a power outage in Oxford, that took out OeRC's machine room.

Currently CPDN is completely offline. ClimateApps2, the database, and the webserver are all down.

Lots of things in the machine room did not come back on properly, and so I took this opportunity to work on some of the infrastructure here.
I am in the process of moving our critical servers to a cabinet that is protected by a UPS, and routing the networking through proper switches rather than the current series of daisy-chained 8 port hubs.

I should have it up again tomorrow.

CPDN is now back up. Apparently nothing to do with software upgrades.

ClimatePrediction.net Unscheduled Downtime - Fire in local electricity substation
Our apologies for the unscheduled downtime of the project over these last few days, unfortunately the facilities hosting the servers of ClimatePrediction.net suffered a number of consecutive power outages over the weekend these were the result of a fire in the electricity substation for the area.
Over the last few days project staff have been working to stagger the restoration of services. The CPDN BOINC back-end service has now been restored and uploads should now be proceeding.
We thank you for your patience over these last few days as the project staff have been dealing with this issue.

Seti pre-outage warning:
Due to lab-wide electrical repairs there will be a complete power outage from January 4th to January 6th, during which all our servers will be unreachable. We are also having our server closet air conditioner repaired, and will be completely off line from January 14th to January 15th.

BOINC pre-outage warning:
The BOINC web site and other services will be offline on 5 January 2013 because of a planned power outage at Space Sciences Laboratory.

The outage at Seti and here has been averted. Perhaps happening at a later time and date. We'll let you know then.

World Grid is down for maintenance -- no messages about what they are doing. The forums are live, and uploads seem to work, but reporting is offline -- appears that has been the case for several hours.

SETI@Home is down for a scheduled AC maintenance for the server closet. Will be back if things go as planned some time on Tuesday the 15th. They have one web server up for the Main front page with a status message on it all other servers are down.

Primegrid pre-outage warning.

Upcoming PrimeGrid Down Time
The BOINC server move is TENTATIVELY scheduled for Saturday, February 9th.

We are planning on moving PrimeGrid's BOINC system (www.primegrid.com) to a new server this coming Saturday, February 9th. The exact time of the move has not yet been determined. PrimeGrid's web server, forums, and BOINC will be down for as much as 24 hours while the transition is occurring.

The PRPNet server (prpnet.primegrid.com) will NOT be moving on Saturday, so the PRPNet ports and web pages should not be affected. PRPNet will move at a later, as yet undetermined date. PRPNet ports that will be eventually be affected when the PRPNet server is moved are: GCW, Primorial, Factorial, GFN32768, GFN65536, 27, and 121.

The PrimeSearchTeam forums, used for manual sieving, will not be affected and should remain up during the outage, as will the upload and download servers for manual sieving.

SETI@home

Project web pages are down, but the actual crunching (scheduler, uploads, downloads) are working normally.

Does anyone have more information about the reasons for the inaccessibility of the website SETI@home ?
The scheduler always seems to do its job.
No problem on that side.
Thanks for your answers :)
