I noticed that too this morning, I think it's a ripple effect going across the internet, CPDN has been down for almost 3 weeks now and the hadcm3n wu's take almost 2 weeks to crunch. Everyone is running out of work and switching to their backup projects, it probably slammed the server with hundreds if not thousands of crunchers switching over. |

Repeat request that everyone please stop posting with their signature on in this thread. It's quite easy for you to do so. To do so, when you make a post in this thread, uncheck the "Add my signature to this reply" and then make your post. Your signature will still be enabled on other posts, just not this one. You can also edit your post during an hour and take the signature out. We ask that you post without a signature to keep the purpose of this thread clear: News about project outages, not about how many credits you have or what team you want us to join. It's not that difficult to do and it gives the moderators even less work to do, as we don't have to remove your post. So please... |

Yes, part of the site is back up. I also can access the message boards and my account page, but, the server status page is still inaccessible. Also the site is still not excepting trickles. |

Over on CPDN's News and Announcements thread... They've also asked to keep traffic to a minimum to make the fix quicker. I can't find a way to stop BOINC manager checking so I suppose they mean manual updates, server status etc.... |

I can't find a way to stop BOINC manager checking... You could suspend the project or manually suspend network communication (but that would affect all projects). There's also a way to block communication by adding a line to the Windows hosts file, but I'm not sure what the correct host name would be. |

Looks like the situation is continuing to improve at CPDN - uploads of finished models, + downloads of new models now seems to be working (although the pool of available models will run out shortly due to massive pent-up demand, more are due to be generated tomorrow). Credit data may still take another day to appear (it is an overnight batch process). |

Do you have the feeling that these forums don't load so good, or that (parts of) the BOINC web site on its own is slightly less available than normal? That's correct. The whole BOINC domain is being migrated to a new server at the same co-location that Seti@Home's servers have been moved to. It can take up to 24 hours for DNS to normalize and problems to disappear. |

Unable to contact Asteroids@home. Seems to effect uploads, reporting and website. So pretty much all of it. MarkJ |

Unable to contact Asteroids@home. Seems to effect uploads, reporting and website. So pretty much all of it. They are now back. Admin has posted a message saying their database server was overloaded. They have moved the Db to another one to get going. Apparently they have another server on order so there will be a scheduled outage when they are ready to swap over. |

I have not been able to connect to asteroidsathome.net all day. Does anyone have an info? Apparently there was a power failure. They came back the day after. Speaking of Asteroids@home, they have a scheduled outage to swap their server over: New date of server migration is planned on friday 20th. It should start at about 07:30 UTC and supposed needed time is about 6 - 8 hours. |
