Reposting what Richard posted in the Setiathome Panic Mode On (82) Server Problems? thread:

http://ucbsystems.org/category/active/scheduled-outage/

Scheduled Outage

Description: As part of network upgrades for the Hill, IST staff will be doing an extensive reworking of the fiber optics serving Botanical Gardens, Lawrence Hall of Science and Space Sciences Lab. Due to the time intensive nature of the work, this is an overnight outage starting at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 19th, and concluding no later than 8:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 20th. This outage will disable all network connectivity for these locations, as well as PBX phone service.

Looks like someone took Einstein down.
19/03/2013 21:26:34 | Einstein@Home | Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server
19/03/2013 21:26:37 | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
19/03/2013 21:26:39 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Let's hope they don't stay down too long.

Their website writes:
Unable to connect to database - please try again later Error: 2003Can't connect to MySQL server on '192.168.10.14' (4)

Edit: and they're back already.

CPDN main project

Andy has shut down the independent forum for backups and maintenance. We expect it to be back online by the end of the week.

Seti pre-outage warning:
Matt Lebofsky wrote:
We are moving most of our servers to a colocation facility with better cooling, power, and network, which should improve uptime in general. This procedure will start on Monday, April 1st at 08:00 (PDT) and should take 3 days to complete, during which our entire project will be unavailable.

The CPDN independent forum is still offline because of a security problem. More details can be read in the CPDN thread of this forum or in the News thread of the CPDN-BOINC forum at the top of Number Crunching.

I have asked David multiple times whether the Seti server relocation means that the BOINC domain goes off line as well. Haven't had an answer yet. I do know that the BOINC Domain server will be moved as well, to a location down the hill. I just don't know when. A surprise for us all.

Poem has been down for 2 days, at least for me. Though on Boincstats the project is offline as well.
Don't get new jobs, finished ones are pending upload.

The project seems to be out of this world at the moment. Even the main page is not reachable. No new work, not uploading, the usual stuff. I choose another project for the rest of the weekend.

Quite picture of that cat :)

The University of Washington and the surrounding neighborhoods expereince a ~2 hour power failure late last night. While the R@H gear is located the UW's datacetner on campus, the equipment is not protected by generator backup. Everything needed to be rebooted and reset up this AM. -KEL & DOVA

Looks like they haven't got it all back yet ...

Upload server uploader1.atm is down but will probably be up again soon. Very few model files upload to this server at the moment so not many CPDN members will be affected by the outage.

I'll be taking the DrugDiscovery@Home project off line during Saturday, and for an unknown amount of time. At least until we're sure Google's not lying about it being an attack site.

I've taken the daemons down already, but will have to wait with taking the site down, until after I heard back from the hosting company.

As it now stands, I will be taking the DrugDiscovery project website off line, reformat the server, reinstall everything and hope to have it back some time in the future. Sans the Drupal frontpage which looks to be the culprit.

Busy backing up whatever I can.
