Coming SETI outage
Lab-wide Power Outage This Weekend (Feb 22-24)
Once again we are going offline due to electrical repairs in our entire building. We plan to come down Friday afternoon (15:00 local time) and be back up by Sunday afternoon (12:00 local time). All SETI servers will be unreachable during that span. 19 Feb 2013, 23:58:59 UTC

Confirmed. The website and project servers have been unavailable for me for a few hours.

Only the upload server has failed this time (plus the web pages, of course).

Scheduler and download server are still functional, so new work can be fetched - although BOINC will stop requesting it once a backlog of completed tasks has built up on the computer.

This will affect the BOINC domain and thus these forums as well. Oh my, all weekend to play Crysis 3. :-)

The SETI@home website appears to be up. I cannot confirm the status of the upload or download servers at this time.

Has anyone any news about ABC@home? The website seems to have been down for a couple of days now, as well as the BOINC server.

Is orbit@home still viable? It appears to have ceased updating
the "statistics" section of the BOINC Manager, and its web site
is currently unavailable.

The BOINC pages and processes have been disabled pending future support to this project. Thanks everyone, we hope to have some good news soon.

Thanks, Mark. It's sad. orbit@home is, certainly, needed; we all know
of the two "head's-up" events, recently.

O@H Project Stopped

Good.

O@H was badly run. I contributed funds via PSI, very poor payback - OK zero.

Virtually no involvement by the Project Scientist over 2 years.

The Message Board was abused by some foul-mouthed individuals - one in particular - whilst genuine discourse about the project was positively discouraged e.g., "PT what do you mean by soon?" - resulted in being banned from their forum!!!

A long time ago I asked PSI to shut down this mess ... no reply but it seems they were listening.

Suggest the alternative BOINC project Asteroids@Home that seems more relevant.
