Not really sure where to post this, so I'll try here. Will BOINC be able to use these, assuming the app was written accordingly? http://www.anandtech.com/show/6017/intel-announces-xeon-phi-family-of-coprocessors-mic-goes-retail Reno, NV Team: SETI.USA |

With Intel's introduction I think it's time to take a very serious look at supporting this. http://newsroom.intel.com/community/intel_newsroom/blog/2012/11/12/intel-delivers-new-architecture-for-discovery-with-intel-xeon-phi-coprocessors This link describes it as a very easy port. http://semiaccurate.com/2012/11/13/what-will-intel-xeon-phi-do-to-the-gpgpu-market/ |

Bump Any new news on this? Intel is about to release 5 new models of these, some even under $2k. Since it is nothing more than collection of ~60 (depending on model) modified Pentium cores, perhaps crunching (Linux)CPU apps instead of GPU apps would yield better results? |
