Hello,

Is there a procedure on how to get BOINC working on Ubuntu? I installed the package from the web-site and from the repos and neither does anything. The best I can get is 'Connecting to servers' and 'No work available to process'. My firewall is off and I have a working WWW connection. Could I have missed something else? I am running the 64-bit version of Ubuntu 12.04.

Thanks in advance.

You don't say which project this is on, perhaps that project doesn't have any work to send out.

Hi

I have the same problem as you not getting work units,I am running seti ,world community grid and Rosetta. I have't had world community grid Wu's for weeks now and i may get Seti Wu's on and off but they all have computational errors after 1 second of crunching.

Rosetta Wu's are fine and i have no problems with them.

I have an AMD cp with ATI Graphics, 64 Bit Ubuntu 12.04

It must be a Linux Boinc manager problem or seti.??

Best to ask about the seti WUs on their boards.

Did you ever get WCG WUs? It doesn't use port 80 (and I'm blanking on what port SSL is on) and there should be a certificate too. Again, a question possibly better answered on the WCG boards.

WCG only has 1 64-bit science application, so you have to let the boinc client also accept 32-bit work. This is done through the cc_config.xml file. Here is a link to the WCG FAQ describing how to do this (ignore the error listed on the FAQ as you only need the instructions on adding the tag):

Also, be aware of a problem with the repository version of BOINC on 12.04:
