I am getting a status that is not expected. suspended while computer is not in use. my preferences are set to:

Processor:
only after the computer has been idle for .50
while processor usage is less than 50 %
switch between applications 30 minutes
on multi-processor systems 100%
use at most 50% cpu time

memory
most 20gb
use most 50% total disk space
task checkpoint to disk at most 60 sec
use at most 75% of swap
use at most 50% computer is in use
use at most 90% when computer is idle

I have checked server monitor on my mac lion server machine this is running on and the exclusionary limits are not met. same thing on my lion client machine with similar settings.

Which Boinc version?

Web or local preferences?

What have you got the following Computing preference set to?:

Suspend work if no mouse/keyboard activity in last --- minutes
Needed to enter low-power mode on some computers

I'm also getting this message,my settings are similar to Joshua's. Boinc manager 6.10.58. As to "Suspend work if no mouse/keyboard activity in last", I can't find that setting. Ive looked at both local and web settings. The reference I looked at listed it in the advanced web settings, but again I don't see it. I think I remember something like that on installation, do I need to re-install?

Most projects allow you to configure this online, in Computing Preferences:

Suspend work if no mouse/keyboard activity in last
(Needed to enter low-power mode on some computers)
Enforced by version 5.10.14+ 0.0 minutes

If it's set to "0.0" or "---" minutes it should prevent this.

If you chose Run Always from Boinc Manager this should also force the system to always run.

The message in Boinc Manager's even log is "Suspending computation - no recent user activity", however it's easier to see by looking at the Tasks; these will show "Boinc suspended computer not in use".
