If you want to build ANY CPU intensive BOINC machine, stay away from Bulldozer... The PII X6 Thubans outperform them by miles as does the I5-2500K/I7-2600K CPU's. Here is a link to an article regarding building a 2 GPU machine. I figured it would cost about $850 or so to build depending on what you already have laying around.
