A bug has been raised on trac and the devs are aware - guess you could always add a me too comment in the bug to bump it - as to when it will be addressed....?

Just an update. I'm currently running 7.0.27 (I think, it's installed from the repositories for Ubuntu 12.04) and am still having the same issue with the wxwidgets version incompatibility.

With the current recommended version (6.12.34) up to and including 7.0.6, the client itself seems to work fine but the manager has a display issue where all the controls across the top of the page (File Edit View etc) display ok until the manager connects to the client but then they all contract to the far left such that only half of the File option control is visible.

I used to switch back to Simple view, then return to Advanced view to get back the menus (which were actually still accessible with the arrow keys after clicking on what was left of the File item), but the quickest fix I know of for that currently is just grab a corner of boinc-mgr and resize it a pixel, then the File/Edit menu items all return.
