Since I updated my F-Secure installation to the 2012 version I have a strange behaviour of several boinc projects. I'm running Win7 64 bit and serval Boinc projects on this machine. The download, run and upload is working fine, except for Poem@home. But several other programs does have problems to get the last step after ready to report message. I get also at this point messages
Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down
If I disconnect and reconnect to the project everything works until the same step. I switched off the Firewall without any change. Added explicit rules for boinc.exe for connections in all directions into the firewall.

And not all projects are affected. GPUGRID, Collatz, Cosmology@Home, QMC and Edges working without any problem. Rosetta, Milkyway, Test4theory, Einstein, are showing the problem.

Any clue for this?

Werner

I checked this by disconnect the projects and reconnect. It worked without problem and I got new tasks. So a really strange problem.

I got in the F-Secure Forum the information to remove the F-secure Online Safety module, which was not switched on on this computer, but this solved the problem.

I never used F-secure, but different AV products respond differently to BOINC. Perhaps try another AV product? I used Norton while I was using Windows and it never had a beef with BOINC.

It is not unusual for some projects to go down. You didn't say if you checked the project websites... they often seem to run on the same server. So, if the website is down, then the project is down too. The problem is on their end, not yours.

For example, for the last 2 days Rosetta@home and Milkyway@home have been down so I can't communicate with them.
