Volunteer supplied posts about project outages will continue to appear here.

May we please ask that when you post, to do so without adding your signature? With thanks.

To do so, when you make a post in this thread, uncheck the "Add my signature to this reply" and then make your post. Your signature will still be enabled on other posts, just not this one. You can also edit your post during an hour and take the signature out.
We ask that you post without a signature to keep the purpose of this thread clear: News about project outages, not about how many credits you have or what team you want us to join.
It's not that difficult to do and it gives the moderators even less work to do, as we don't have to remove your post. So please...

The old thread was nearing 200 posts, so I split off to the new thread. Last outages were Aqua, Milkyway and Seti (despite its weekly outage, it was having scheduler problems hours before that).

Also Climate -- they have had server problems for several days now.

I know AQUA is in stasis and glad to hear an update for SETI, but what's happening with MW@h?

Oh, and thanks for the split off. It's difficult to try to read up on everything that's happened recently, let alone 200 posts ago.

Something to consider: Split off at the end of each week??? Keeps things nice and tidy, and much easier to search for information on what was wrong in a given week, versus reading through 200 posts??? Just my $0.02.

Milkyway went offline due to some maintenance at RPI - I believe the maintenance was supposed to take one day -- but it seems it is taking the college folks longer.

Another outage -- which hopefully will be fairly short (and it's a partial outage at that) at Einstein:

Power outage in Hannover brought BRP servers down
Last night a power outage throughout Hannover brought down the AEI machines, including the Einstein@home servers that run the BRP (Binary Radio Pulsar) and FGRP (Fermi-LAT Gamma-Ray Pulsar) searches. We are working to bring the servers up again, but there will be no downloads, uploads, validation etc. for (hopefully only) another few hours. 14 Jul 2011 5:56:39 UTC

Einstein appears back on line this morning (10AM PDT), as does Climate. No details on Climate -- just that they needed an 'emergency shutdown' some days ago to perform 'repairs'.

Milkyway is back online as of this morning.

Aqua remains behind the NewCredit 8-ball for now and thus no new work there. There will probably be something of an update from the Aqua admins later in the day.

Just a further update -- Aqua still has no new work available as they attempt to figure out CreditNew. Perhaps later this afternoon, if not, then early next week I suppose.

Seti seems to be on and off as far as downloads and uploads go. I have several of each stuck in various stages of completion.

Constellation is not uploading or downloading, and I can't reach their web page.

Aqua remains with no new work -- and no further update from the admins over there -- though it should be noted, it seems they don't 'do rounds' on the message boards except for weekday afternoons by and large - so it is possible there will be some update from the project toward the end of the day.

GPUGrid's hardware upgrade is scheduled for today, Tuesday 19 July - time not specified. They are anticipating "a couple of hours maximum during the day".

Aqua still is in 'stasis' -- no new work, no test units. It seems the problem regarding the CreditNew system with Aqua is more intractable for the project and the BOINC developers to get a handle on.

There has been nothing posted from the Aqua project folks since last Thursday....

Any idea on the length of maintenance for PG@home?

Was unable to upload WUs, and when accessing webpage, message states project temporarily down for maintenance.

Aqua remains with no new work, though the admin there believes that the CreditNew problem will be handled by having a multiplier of the CreditNew value.

Then again, project apparently has no current need for additional project work units to be processed so it seems that the issues regarding CreditNew have not been disruptive to the project needs.

Climate is offline at the moment -- things have been rather sketchy there for quite some time.

Please post without your signature in this thread. If unsure how to do that on specific posts, see the first post of this thread that explains so.

If I were to allow your signature here, I would have to allow all signatures. So it's better to allow none, no matter what they say.

With thanks.

Sig removed....

As for MW, it is an Air Conditioning issue that was not caused by MW Staff but by higher-ups at RPI. Still waiting for word on when it'll be back up.
