Hi, I'm trying to just start developing a boinc project, I've tried using the tools in the source files with make_project on the debian vmserver, and I even tried it on a basic ubuntu system, and no matter what I do, or what commands I add to it, it always just says this: ": No such file or directory" Ive been really frustrated with this, and I've followed just about everything on the wiki. now I've even tried sending help messages to boinc_projects@berkeley and all it says is I need to subscribe to post to it..... None of this is really helping me. |

Why don't you register at the boinc_projects email list then? It's really simple and it's also what we advise on the forums. Point is, through that list you will get help from all kinds of people who run projects, they have been where you are now and can really help you out. Way better than we can do on the forums. So, go to http://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_projects and fill in the email address and name you want to use for the list, fill in a password and click Subscribe. Then go to your email address, click the link in the email you will have gotten from the list and that's it. You're registered to the list now and can send questions to it. It's almost as simple as registering to these forums. |

I assume though that you went to http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/QuickStart and started at point 1? In that case you're running the BOINC server virtual machine, but which one? Which one did you download? Or did you start at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/CreateProjectCookbook ?? |
