Hello, these days I noticed a certain slowness and found that the boinc continues processing GPU, same set, suspended activity and never use the GPU. This does not always happen, but it happens.

Translated in google.

Seti doesn't have an ATI application by default, so you're using an anonymous platform file (app_info.xml) to tell BOINC what application to use. It's then the anonymous application that uses the GPU, without BOINC knowing about it.

With the anonymous platform file you're overriding all settings set by BOINC and decide on your own what piece of hardware to use. You can then even use the GPU while it's set to Suspend in BOINC. You can even disable the GPU detection all together and use the GPU this way. Or go back to BOINC 5.10.45, which doesn't even do GPU detection and use it.

Seti Beta does have a default ATI application, and has had it since 9 Dec 2009 | 0:36:25 UTC:

Applications

It's Raistmer's old r280 Hybrid Astropulse app, someday Eric might get round to updating it to one of the current versions,
i have no idea if that app had any problems with suspending computation, it's been over a year since i ran that particular version.

Have the same issue here. When I start using PC, BOINC goes suspend, if I open tasks I see that even though it says suspended - a task is still running in GPU. I set to not use GPU when in use.

Initially though a project, got rid of this project (GPUGRID), now see the same with another one (Einstein).

I have ION2 geforce g218, installed CUDA 3.2 (official latest), was thinking to roll back to 3.1 to see if that helps.

Given that different projects behave the same, could be BOINC bug? maybe 3.2 issue?

It's a combination of your slow GPU and the Cuda app, my 128Mb 8400M GS takes around 10 to 11 seconds to suspend a Collatz Cuda task that is running,
