An article in HPCwire discusses Watson's victory on Jeopardy!, and its benefit to IBM World Community Grid.

In the cited article it says, "...The day after the tournament's conclusion, World Community Grid saw a 700 percent spike in the number of people who normally volunteer their computers' spare power for the effort...."

Does that mean that we should start to see results from 7 times the current 97,000 active crunchers attached to WCG? Or does it mean that the daily rate of new volunteers increased 7 times? That would be a very different number.
