Hi, I am running BOINC 6.12.12 x64 on Windows 7 x64. All seems to work fine except for one thing. I have set Seti@Home Beta to "Won't get new Tasks" but it keeps on getting new GPU tasks |

You sure you set the correct project to No New Tasks? Please double check. Else, as we do ask in the thread you posted in before, leave behind a log. REMINDER TO ALL ALPHA TESTERS: So in this case, post a log where you set <work_fetch_debug>1</work_fetch_debug Not a log of 1300 lines, just a capture of one such work fetch from Seti Beta. |

Thank you for the help! As they say, Help me help you. :-) Please pardon my ignorance, but I am not sure where to find the info from the log mentioned in your reply. I have double checked that "No new tasks" were active on the Seti@Home Beta project but it still received GPU tasks. I would imagine the info is not from the Event Log? I had a look the Job Log in the C:\ProgramData\Boinc folder but that had strange info that made no sense. I also am not sure how to use the flags as mentioned below. It looks like XML code. Should I add <work_fetch_debug>1</work_fetch_debug> to my cc_config.xml file? Please forgive my ignorance once again, I just really want to help and this is the first time I do so and with no knowledge of how. I am not an utter fool on the computer and have been using BOINC (and seti@home client before then) for many years so I have a good basic understanding. |

I would imagine the info is not from the Event Log? I had a look the Job Log in the C:\ProgramData\Boinc folder but that had strange info that made no sense. If you modify cc_config.xml as described, the extra information will appear in Event Log (once you have used 'Read Config File', Advanced view, Advanced menu). Yes, add that line. See client configuration for details. |

You didn't give us a link to that host, so i had a look at Seti Beta for a user called Ascension, and found this Ascension, with a Win 7 x64 Cuda machine, is it you?, anyway this Win 7 x64 host hasn't had any Wu's since 18 December, a lot of it's Wu's were completed in December, another 40 being completed in January, and so far 4 Wu's have been completed in February, now there are only two Wu's left, which both have a deadline of just 2 hours time at 2 Feb 2011 23:12:49 UTC, So the next question is do you have 'Show only active tasks' clicked?, and you're really had these tasks since Dec 18th and didn't know you had them, Claggy |
