They're on it. Front page now says "The AQUA server is being reconfigured. Please wait."

And they're nearly there. From the forum (Yay! We can read that):

AQUA@home : BOINC daemons will be restarted shortly
The DB is restored and things seem OK. I'll be starting BOINC's processes shortly.

Einstein went into its 24 hour database maintenance outage today.

And has since returned.

CPDN main project

HadAM3P_EU (Europe) generates 13 files. In the Boinc manager Transfers tab each file has the name of its model with the file number at the end.

Files _2, _5, _8 and _11 upload to upload server cpdn-upload.1.comlab which is functioning. No problem.
Files _3, _6, _9 and _12 upload to uploader1.atm which is also functioning. No problem.
File _13 (which contains the restart dump data for the next model in the time series to begin) uploads to climateapps1 which is functioning. No problem.

However, files _1, _4, _7 and _10 upload to uploader.oerc. This server shows green on the Server status page but is not accepting all uploads. So if you have EU files with numbers 1, 4, 7 and 10 stuck in the Transfers tab please be patient.

In addition the CPDN independent forum is down. Members can still post on the CPDN-Boinc forum.

CPDN main project

Uploader.oerc is now up and running so all files should be able to upload.

Sad news for ATI GPU folks:

Posted on the home page of Dnetc:

The project will work to 31/01/2011 - lack of finances to maintain the server.
In the absence of contributions to the maintenance of the server, the project will work to 31.01.2011, until further notice. - OxyOne - 27 Jan 2011 | 17:40:19 UTC ยท Comment

Edit: Never mind. This is a problem with the DNS servers at my ISP.

If you are in The Netherlands and do have the problem that some sites don't load, try to set up your internet connection so it uses the Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

I got a reply from my ISP, in Dutch:
Naast Ziggo hebben een aantal andere Internet Providers (waaronder UPC) ook last van dit probleem. Het probleem zorgt ervoor dat sommige sites in de Verenigde Staten inderdaad erg langzaam laden of zelfs helemaal niet.

Naar verwachting lost dit probleem zich vanzelf op en het advies is dan ook naar verloop van tijd weer terug te schakelen op de automatische toewijzing van uw DNS servers (die van Google zelf zijn ook prima).

Seti Wednesday morning shut-down

Matt Lebofsky wrote:
Oh yeah, heads up: There's going to be a lab-wide network outage out of our control Wednesday morning (Pacific time) around 5:30am until 7am. This may not affect the Hurricane traffic, so you might not notice except for not being able to reach this web site, and event then we might be down much less than 90 minutes.

SETI web pages and message boards are back up, but it's unlikely any new work can be downloaded until Monday.

MW is not doing uploads/downloads -- apparently they got surprised by running out of disk space.

CPDN main project

The upload server used by FAMOUS tasks on CPDN main project (kraken.oerc.ox.ac.uk) is currently offline.

This is necessary to complete the work required after transferring 11TB of FAMOUS data to a new server to make space for more of our upload files. FAMOUS uploads will remain stuck in the transfer queue until kraken comes back online (hopefully later today).

SETI had a second drive fail on the RAID after the weekend rebuild. They put a second hot spare into the raid and are rebuilding it a second time. It will most likely finish during the regular Tuesday outage.

SETI's 'Gowron' download fileserver has crashed again. Webpages/boards have been brought back up.

CPDN main project

SAF regional HadAM3P models upload their zip files to the following servers:

_1, _4, _7 and _10 upload to uploader.oerc
_2, -5, _8 and _11 upload to cpdn-upload1.comlab
_3, _6, _9 and _12 upload to uploader1.atm
_13 uploads to climateapps1

The disk of uploader1.atm has filled up and cannot accept more file uploads until Milo has moved data off its disk to free up space. But this job cannot be done until the transfer of data from kraken is complete. (Kraken, which takes FAMOUS zip files, is still down for data transfer.) Please be patient!

Members do not need to take any special action if they have files stuck in the Boinc Transfers tab.

CPDN main project

Uploads to kraken.oerc.ox.ac.uk are now possible, but there may be delays in the upload of FAMOUS files until the server deals with the backlog of files buffered up on our computers.

Milo is now making space on uploader1.atm.ox.ac.uk for the _3, _6, _9 and _12 files from HadAM3P regional models. He is moving 1.6TB of FAMOUS data first to enable the machine to be set running and will then start transferring the 18TB of HadAM3P files ...
