Hello! Seems that the flag "While computer is on batteries" do not works. I've performed some checks on 2 laptop, a HP + Vista + BOINC 6.10.18 and a Dell Inspiron 2200 + XP home + BOINC 6.10.18, with the same result, disconnecting the AC power boinc continue to run. I've also found this ticket on a old 6.2 verion: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/ticket/690 seems the same problem, but it's closed. What's mean "resolution set to worksforme" ? Regards, Ale |

BOINC 6.10.18 Please update to the latest BOINC (6.10.58) first and try again. Also make sure your computers are updated complete, (motherboard chipset -) driver wise, BIOS upgrade, Windows update etc. Also make sure that boinctray.exe is running. Despite its name, this program doesn't do anything is a tray. It does not show the BOINC Manager icon in the system tray, but instead is used to check for keyboard taps and mouse movements. Without it running, especially on Vista and Windows 7 systems, BOINC has big problems checking what's happening, due to security measures put in place by Microsoft in their OSes. After you update BOINC, boinctray.exe is usually missing. It'll start only from the registry at system startup. It does not start up when BOINC starts. You can manually run it from your BOINC programs directory (it won't give any indication that it is running, other than that you can see it in Windows Task Manager). "Worksforme" on Trac, or "works for me" means that the ticket can be closed without any further ado as the problem seems to have been fixed in either the BOINC version of the time of ticket closure, or through other means (BIOS update, drivers update, Windows patch etc.) |

Did you set "Run based on preferences" in the Activity menu? Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) |
