Hi,

I was keeping getting this message after each BAM synch :

jeu. 14 oct. 2010 20:12:00 CEST Account manager contact succeeded
jeu. 14 oct. 2010 20:12:00 CEST [error] Inconsistent signing key from account manager

so I searched and found explanation in this wiki saying "it may happen", but I also found this and this, so I tried to detach and reattach to BAM : it worked, the message disapeared... for some time, and now it's back again, after each BAM synch.

I'm using ubuntu 10.10 with boinc 6.10.58 (installed from depot) in a virtual machine.

Thanks for your help.

Checking in the source code, you get this message when BOINC doesn't accept a new signing key when it has one already.

You will have to contact the account manager administrator to get that fixed.
Contact Willy through his forums.

Message 35260 - Posted: 17 Oct 2010, 19:22:14 UTC - in response to Message 35239.

In the thread I mention above Willy is telling it is not a BAM issue but an OS issue, referring to ubuntu 10.10 I guess. He is mentioning another thread reporting to a workaround of the same issue (but I'm not sure I understood all in that thread), but for me it's not working, only the first time when i detach / attach again to BAM I don't have the error anymore in the session, but if I restart the OS the problem comes back...

It was reported to the ubuntu people as a bug, but obviously nobody did something about it.
It's an OS-bug, not a BOINC-bug. OS is short for Operating System, and that's ubuntu in this case.

I run Ubuntu too, but I installed the BOINC client manually from boinc.berkeley.edu and the issue manifests itself yet again. Even using the 6.12.6 client.

Please, advise.

TIA

I now have this message on 2 boxes running 64bit gentoo linux boinc 6.10.58 after using the boincstats/bam beta url, problem persists even after swapping back to the standard url. 3 other boxes all running same os and boinc versions and haven't been pointed to the beta url don't display this message.

Looks like it's something in Willy's code
