v6.11.4
I'm the only one who is not happy with the new event log position hidden in the "Advanced" menu?

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=5883&nowrap=true#33856 :
"... our findings suggested it was stressing new people out, making them think something was wrong when it wasn't ..."

Well I think "new people" were supposed to use the simple view...

Even in Simple View you have the messages in BOINC versions before 6.11
And do know that 6.11 is development, it's not a release version. If it were it would be called 6.12.x

Well it's like that in version 6.12.8 too.

I prefer the old way too.

At least allow advanced users to set back via command line option or config file? Please?

Not my decision, and as far as I understand from the developers they won't change it any time soon.

I actually use the event log on a regular basis as it is an excellent summary of all activity. I realize accessing the event log is only two mouse clicks away, but for someone who uses it frequently, the pop up window is much less convenient. I also hope they reconsider.

Two mouse clicks, or just three fingers away: CTRL + SHIFT + E.
(BOINC Manager should be in focus then, or Firefox 4 not opened...)

A friend of mine made a very good observation, though. I copied them from their original place to here. Why not go peek? ;-)
