Just got my first MAC an cannot open BOINC installer on OS 10.2 Using v 6.10.43 Read the user manual, apparently I dont have an application to open the installer. What do I need to download?

BOINC 6.10 requires OS X 10.4.0 and above.
BOINC 6.6 requires OS X 10.3.9 and above.

So you'd have to update your OS before you can run BOINC.
Apropos, read http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC#Mac_OS_X for all the steps (on the correct OS).

Also, as your computer has Mac OS X version 10.2, (Jaguar), then it probably also has a PowerMac processor.
Some of the projects have dropped support for these in the last few years, in favour of Intel based Macs.
