I have three computers on the same network that all experience very frequent (>80% rate) failures when downloading WUs (on all projects). The reason for the failure is a checksum error. All three machines are Windows XP (x86), running various versions of BOINC >= 6.10.18. I suspect the problem has something to do with the network. This is an office network that has a filter called St. Bernard iPrism that restricts certain websites. Is it possible that the filter is interfering with the download? If so, why do some WUs get through okay? If not, is there something I can do to determine the cause of these errors? |

It would be best if you talk to the IP people about it to get help with finding/fixing the problem. |

I'd like to do some differential diagnosis first. Are there any other explanations for this checksum problem? |

Okay, so much for my theory that picture files might be involved ;-) In that case I would have suggested to enable the "Skip image file verification" preference. But perhaps it's worth a try anyway. Gruß, Gundolf |

Please put <http_debug>1</http_debug> and <http_xfer_debug>1</http_xfer_debug> in your cc_config.xml file. <proxy_debug>1</proxy_debug> as well, when you use a proxy. |
