I have used BOINC for several years without a problem. However now I can get no work from several projects which include SETI, Einstien, Milkyway and Cosomology. I can't believe all of these projects have no work. Below is my message listing:

It's not that they have no work, it's your BOINC client that doesn't ask for work. At least SETI and Einstein don't have applications for ATI GPUs, but your client does only ask for GPU tasks, not CPU ones.

Can you find any hints in the project properties on the Projects tab? I think it works with a right click.

Gundolf

Gundof,

I don't see anything significant in project properties except SETI does show some values for GPU. However, in my SETI account preferences I have use CPU as YES and use GPU as NO.

Gundolf,

I can't point you to exact wording just at the moment, because SETI's weekly maintenance has just started: but SETI doesn't have a 'use GPU' preference.

It does have a 'use NVIDIA GPU' option, but the matching 'use ATI GPU' option is hidden - automatically - because SETI doesn't have any ATI applications yet. So in your configuration, and with that option set, BOINC will continue to check periodically to see if any ATI application, plus work for it, has materialised yet. It won't have.

BOINC will continue to check periodically to see if any ATI application, plus work for it, has materialised yet.

Not as answer to Richard, as he knows this, but to Brent and anyone else reading this: Normally this GPU work request will peter out, going into a 24 hour back-off. Meaning that only once every 24 hours, BOINC will check for work for the (ATI) GPU.

This 24 hour back-off will be reset to zero when you manually request work, then you'll continually see that request for work for the (ATI) GPU again. If left alone, it'll peter out again to a 24 hour back-off, yet each time you click Update, this back-off will be reset and everything will start from the beginning again.
