I thought I'd managed to create an Alpa test account but it appears I've just signed up to this message forum instead. I wonder if it would be possible for someone here to pass on these comments to the Alpha guys.
Anyway I gave 5.3.15 a go, uping from 5.2.15.
No probs on computation from upgrade, found all apps and continued.
All the tabs and buttons seem to work fine.
Stats graphs look good, much clearer than previously.
In Mode View, on One Project clicking on your chosen app from the list at the top right would seem more intuitive than Back/Next project (just my opinion).
In Disk usage I still preferred the old pie chart from 4.19 (again just my opinion).
Only problem I had was with connection. I have a metered broadband connection which I disconnect when not required. If connect automatically, all was OK and disconnected itself fine, but I tried "prompt for user name and password" just to see if that worked. Box comes up but before there is time to enter the details, a "network error" message appears in messages tab. There needs to be a delay here to allow input. Once I had unchecked the "prompt for...." everything was fine and connected and disconnected as required.
Even though I know this is on the wrong board, I hope it gets to those it should, and I hope it is of some benefit.
Great work guys, more projects are hopping onto your Boinc platform all the time so its ongoing development can only be good. I was an early convert from Seti Classic to Boinc so I hope those who have only recently converted soon get the feel of the multi tasking/ multi project possibilities and benefits Boinc has over Classic.

Hi Carlos,
I was just cruising around the site and up popped "Create Account" so I did, but it appears to have been just for this forum, not the Alpha project itself. Anyway 5.3.15 was too quick to declare a "Network error" before my connection was fully made so I've gone back to 5.2.14 for now. I did like the new graphs, though. Hope they keep that style.

If you're adventurous there is now v.5.3.16, I don't know what change were implemented. It work fine for me, but then so far, I've not encountered any obvious problems with any of the builds I've installed. Just lucky I guess :).

AB, 5.3.17 is out from the download site. (You'll know what I mean :))

In any case, when you want to check what is different in 5.3.16, look here. (It's always in the "version details". No version details on .17 as that site don't show them)

.17 is completely different: Big changes to Boinc Manager.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like they did a major menu reshuffle.
I think I'll need to make notes on where the stuff is located in the 5.2.x versions so that I can reference the correct menu locations when I'm posting in the help desk.
