Hi there On my Debian 3.1 machine, the projects clients are normally all nice-processes with a nicelevel of 19. so i change the two threads manually at startup to a nice-level of 0 or 4. Yesterday, the two sulpurs became user-processes. This happend several times before, without causing damage to any WU. I use Crunch3r's SSE2-Client, but it also happens with the official client. I see, it happend ones again: the two sulpurs changed to user-processes. my machine: CPU: P4 3GHz@3299MHz, HT OS: Debian/GNU Linux 3.1 CC-Version: "Boinc 5.2.8 P4 SSE2" from http://www.guntec.de/Crunch3r/boincx86.html It happens mainly with CPDN's sulpur, but also with LHC and Rosetta. After a Project-change (every 60 minutes), the clients sometimes run as nice, but mainly as user. At the moment, I run two sulpurs, all other projects are suspendet. Could there be a problem with my start-stop-script? It's a bit long, so i'll post it if it is needet. nice day C167 |

Update: it seems to happen after a scheduler request with a trickle-up-message to CPDN... |

I have the same here on several Linux machines with Einstein. I could not find anything which causes this behaviour, although it seems to happen often after a benchmark run (but not always). Up to now I never saw Seti affected by this. |
