I run Boinc v5.2.13 on two PCs. The primary PC is my laptop that I carry to work and back home. The projects run fun on this pc, only one at a time. I have SETI, RESETTA, EINSTEIN, LCH and CLIMETPREDICTION. They only run one at a time on my laptop, and switch every 60 minutes between them all. The only problem I have is that the screen saver never display the graphics associated with the unit currently being calculated. Why is that?

Now, I installed the same version Boinc on my second desktop I have at office, I registered the same projects, but for some reason two projects run at the same time, and the graphics never displays when the screen saver is running.

Can any one help me with these two issues?

Thank You...

What is your time to show the screensaver set to?

but for some reason two projects run at the same time, and the graphics never displays when the screen saver is running.

I will guess that the PC at work has either more than one CPU or a hyperthreading CPU, the latter which means that the one CPU can create a virtual second CPU. BOINC can recognize this and set you up for two CPUs, meaning that two results can be crunched at the same time.

As for the screensaver, make sure that the videocard/videochip in the work PC can do OpenGL 1.2, has the latest drivers support, etc.

If you installed as a service you have to do one more step to enable the graphics. THere is a procedure for that in the Wiki's How-To guides...

I have my Bonic Settings and my Screen saver set to 20 mins. But on my work computer i override that to always have the the Boinc running.

Yes, my PC at the office is a pentium 4 HT (3Ghz), should i change Boinc so as to utilize only one CPU?

You did not answer the question ... :)

When you installed BOINC, did you install it as a service? If so, on windows you have to enable the software/service interaction with the desktop.

The settings of the screen saver are independent of this, as is the setting of the use of processors.
