Greetings:

I have a:

ASUS Notebook G50VT Series
Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium edition Service pk 2
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7450 @ 2.13 GHz
4 GB Ram
nVidia Geforce 9800M GS 512 MB

I'm running Boinc 6.10.18 with the following projects:
Einstein, SETI, QMC and Rosetta.

My problem is that after I leave my computer idle, Boinc will start the screen saver and after about 5 minutes, the screen will blank. After the screen blanks, I can't get the computer to respond. I've tried hitting Escape, Ctrl-Alt-Del and a bunch of other things, but it will not respond. I have a little digital display by the keyboard that shows how much processor and memory is in use. It normally switches back and forth, but it will display only one stat when it locks up. When it locks with the CPU stats, it displays 100%. I have boinc configured to run at 80% processor load and cpu time. Anybody have any ideas about what could be wrong? I also have boinc set up to use the GPU. Is this possibly the problem? I have to do a manual reset/shut down when this error occurs.

Thanks

Don't use the GPU (CUDA) and the screen saver at the same time. When you are allowing for projects that can to use the GPU for calculations, the GPU is doing those calculations already. It can't do the screen saver on the side as well. That's just too much.
