When I first tried Windows 7 Beta (64-bit Quad core), it kept freezing so I abandoned it until the release. Then I experienced the same freezes where the clock and screen would freeze. The mouse would work for a while but explorer was hung and would not allow any clicks. I could remotely browse across the network. I disabled many startups and services and went from November 9 until December 9 without a freeze. Then when it frooze 3 times yesterday, I checked the System Restore and noticed Windows Update and Boinc. I have now uninstalled Boinc to see if I get my satbility back. My adjacent laptop is alsio running Win 7 64-bit and Boinc and not exhibiting the problem. Any ideas?

BOINC 6.10.18 occasionally freezes my Win7 (x86) machine as well. That is, sometimes (only when BOINC is running) while doing something else on the same machine, the machine suddenly becomes totally unresponsive, even the sound starts looping. It only happens when I'm running BOINC and I've already checked my RAM and HDD for defects, so these are not to be blamed. The Core 2 Duo in the machine reads about 40'C at all times when BOINC is running, so it's not overheating either. I'm not running CUDA projects. Also, I ran BOINC fine without any crashes on the same machine on Vista.
