Hey guys, After being offline from the BOINC scene for a while, I have finally come back :) But anyways, I am running 2 ATI 4650 video cards. Latest ATI video driver. Windows 7 64bit. Boinc supports running ATI cards right? I am running the Seti@Home project. The Catalyst video driver shows no activity on either card while BOINC is running. I checked the messages and one that keeps comeing up is I'm not running a Nvidia video card. So, is there something I need to change? I have the "Use GPU" checkbox enabled also. Thanks for your time, and have a great day! Walter. |

What Boinc version are you running?, you'll need 6.10.x minimum. Seti doesn't have a ATI app, you'll have to join a project that does. Claggy |

Seti doesn't have an application for ATI GPUs. Only Nvidia CUDA. So that's why it won't run. There are some projects with ATI GPU applications, just take a look at my FAQ on that subject. Do know that both Collatz and Milkyway have server trouble, while for Milkyway you will need to install the science applications by hand (using the anonymous platform files). See their forums for more on that (if you can get there, they load hyper-slowly). |

Sweet, thanks for the reply guys. I'm running BOINC 6.10.17 But it seems like my preferred Project does not have ATI yet :( Is there some kind of plan to have SETI support ATI in the near future? That would be great if they did :) |

Is there some kind of plan to have SETI support ATI in the near future? Not that I know of. The 3rd party app makers, Lunatics, did release an ATI app for Astropulse on Windows. But as far as I know, ATI support isn't a priority for Seti. |
