Hi,

exclusive_app as found on:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration

Does not seem to work.

I saved cc_config.xml to %ProgramFiles%\BOINC as:

<cc_config>
<options>
<exclusive_app>ioUrbanTerror.exe</exclusive_app>
<exclusive_app>mpc-hc.exe</exclusive_app>
<exclusive_app>GrabIt.exe</exclusive_app>
<exclusive_app>ImgBurn.exe</exclusive_app>
<exclusive_app>Nero.exe</exclusive_app>
<exclusive_app>CloneDVD2.exe</exclusive_app>
<exclusive_app>wmplayer.exe</exclusive_app>
</options>
</cc_config>

And yet Bonic Manager never suspends when the above applications run. Even tried simply with notepad.

Thanks for the help,

Will

Update: O.K that guide needs to be more clear. Should tell user to place file at %ProgramData%\BOINC for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Then it works fine. :)

Guide should also mention that you know if config file is taking effect when you see this line in the log:

Reading preferences override file

Citation from Client configuration:
To create or edit the file, use a text editor such as Notepad, and save it as cc_config.xml in your BOINC data directory.
(RTFM :-)
Guide should also mention that you know if config file is taking effect when you see this line in the log:

Reading preferences override file

This line indicates that you use local preferences (stored in global_prefs_override.xml) not that you have a cc_config.xml file.

Message 27630 - Posted: 27 Sep 2009, 15:17:06 UTC - in response to Message 27629.

The messages log will show that the cc_config.xml file is (re)read:

27-Sep-09 17:17:06 Re-reading cc_config.xml
27-Sep-09 17:17:06 Re-read config file

Just did that on BOINC 6.10.9 (alpha), after going Advanced->Read config file.
This message has been in effect since someplace in the 6.6 range of BOINC.
