I have this same problem with CPDN. I have 2 large WUs but they are not due till 2011, despite this being plenty of time to finish these WUs BOINC refuses to download work from other projects.

All i would like to know is if the BOINC team admits there is a problem or should i just uninstall the 6.6.36 version and reinstall an older version that worked properly.

Running long climate models alongside shorter WUs from other projects will cause this behaviour until you've let BOINC run the mix for long enough to 'learn' that the climate models are not in danger, which may take a few weeks.
And then BOINC will give the other projects a larger share of processing time for a while to even things out.

The scheduler in the latest version works differently to earlier versions. This does NOT mean that it doesn't work properly; only that YOU need to get used to the differences, and to let BOINC get on with it's learning.
