I gave up on my 295 card seeing only 1/2 of it and switched to XP Prof, without any problems. I wait for the new drivers... And I heard a lot of other users who switched back to XP. |

@Ageless ... see below: @Fred ... I have passed the point of no return with Win7. I will NOT go back to VISTA. Win7 is what Vista should have been. <EDIT> Tthrottle and SpeedFan both find the card </EDIT> 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Starting BOINC client version 6.6.31 for windows_x86_64 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops, sched_op_debug 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8j zlib/1.2.3 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Running as a daemon 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Running under account boinc_master 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM SETI@home Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Processor: 2 AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ [AMD64 Family 15 Model 67 Stepping 3] 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 pni 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM OS: Microsoft Windows 7: x64 Edition, (06.01.7100.00) 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Memory: 8.00 GB physical, 16.00 GB virtual 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Disk: 931.40 GB total, 862.97 GB free 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Local time is UTC -7 hours 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM No CUDA devices found 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM No coprocessors 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Using HTTP proxy 127.0.0.1:8118 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Einstein@Home URL: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/; Computer ID: 1851469; location: home; project prefs: default 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM SETI@home URL: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID: 4711377; location: (none); project prefs: default 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM SETI@home General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 26-May-2009 05:07:55) 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM SETI@home Host location: none 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM SETI@home General prefs: using your defaults 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Reading preferences override file 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Preferences limit memory usage when active to 2866.67MB 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 7371.44MB 6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Preferences limit disk usage to 1.00GB -- benDan |

6/6/2009 11:35:50 AM Running as a daemon That could be the problem (at least it was with vista). Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) |

@Gundolf ... I dont even know what that means. Running as a daemon = Service = Protected Application. To use CUDA you can't install in protected mode on Vista or Win7. At least until a work around is figured out. |

What the Hay? ... just reinstalled BOINC 6.6.31 and it installed a service. There was no option presented ... just did it! Thanks all. <EDIT> The problem was running underprivileged accounts option. The verbage doesn't mention running as a Service but that is what it does. I reinstalled unchecked the box and am now back in the CUDA business Thanks. </EDIT> -- benDan |

What the Hay? ... just reinstalled BOINC 6.6.31 and it installed a service. There was no option presented ... just did it! There is an option presented, in the third screen of the installer, click Advanced, then take the check off of the Protected application execution option with the specific warning underneath it for Vista and above not to use it when you want to run CUDA. |
