Message 24945 - Posted: 20 May 2009, 15:09:21 UTC

Hi there!
I'm trying to submit a work with creat work. It apparently works ok but, when I connect the client, it doen't receive the work I've sent.

I'm using the vmware instalation of the boinc server and the last windows client. The messages the client shows are the following:

20/05/2009 11:53:34 a.m.||Fetching configuration file from http://debian.localhost/test_setup/get_project_config.php
20/05/2009 11:53:51 a.m.|test_setup|Master file download succeeded

20/05/2009 11:56:06 a.m.|test_setup|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 60480 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
20/05/2009 11:56:11 a.m.|test_setup|Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

Then it keeps on repeating the last two messages:
20/05/2009 11:56:06 a.m.|test_setup|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 60480 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
20/05/2009 11:56:11 a.m.|test_setup|Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

Any ideas??

Thanks!
Alejandro

Is the client running on the same machine as where the server runs from?
For as far as I know, that isn't possible.

Actually it is in the same physical machine but in other virtual machine. The server is on a debian virtual machine and teh client in a windows one.

scheduler.log in the server should have more information on why work wasn't sent. You may want to enable more debugging flags in config.xml; see Server logging.

Thank you Nicolas for your response.

In the scheduler log it repeats the following message:
SCHEDULER_REQUEST:: parse() unrecognized: <cpu_req_secs>30240.000000</cpu_req_secs>
SCHEDULER_REQUEST:: parse() unrecognized: <cpu_req_instances>2</cpu_req_instances>

It seems like the client is sending wrong info... I'll try to compile my app in unix so I can test it with the linux client, just to be sure that it's not a windows problem.

Thank you again,
Alejandro

I've finally updated (copy-pasta) the result template from the uppercase example and now it works... the error was a little bit confusing.
