Hi, I'm running the BOINC client on a dual 466MHz Celeron system that has previously been very happy using the original setiathome command line process. I'm not convinced that the whole BOINC system is working correctly. I'm seeing the following quite a lot for climateprediction work units: inflating: sulphur_fpt6_000733290/jobs/climate.doub inflating: sulphur_fpt6_000733290/jobs/climate.so2.cont inflating: sulphur_fpt6_000733290/jobs/climate.so2.doub inflating: sulphur_fpt6_000733290/jobs/ncatts.cpdc Created shared memory region key = 77580 of size 569976 bytes .so shmem return code = 0 Copying files for startup... And the following is what happens for the new Setiathome: 2005-12-09 15:20:39 [SETI@home] Started download of 20mr05aa.18074.30210.179816.31 2005-12-09 15:21:03 [SETI@home] Finished download of 20mr05aa.18074.30210.179816.31 2005-12-09 15:21:03 [SETI@home] Throughput 16625 bytes/sec 2005-12-09 15:21:04 [---] request_reschedule_cpus: files downloaded 2005-12-09 15:21:04 [SETI@home] Starting result 20mr05aa.18074.30210.179816.31_2 using setiathome ve rsion 402 2005-12-09 15:21:05 [SETI@home] Unrecoverable error for result 20mr05aa.18074.30210.179816.31_2 (pro cess exited with code 127 (0x7f)) 2005-12-09 15:21:05 [---] request_reschedule_cpus: process exited 2005-12-09 15:21:05 [SETI@home] Computation for result 20mr05aa.18074.30210.179816.31_2 finished What is going on here? As I said before, its a twin Celeron 466MHz system. It has 384MB RAM, which, bearing in mind its not running any X-Windows, should probably be enough. Its running Slackware 8.0 with kernel 2.4.5. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Paul ~~~~~ |
