Dear all, I am just back up & running after a few months off line but I find that my elderly PC has been given a project that will be pretty much impossible to complete by the deadline (6 hours running and 0.3% completed) - this wasn't a problem previously, why now? Is it possible to choose smaller chunks to process?

There are plenty of projects to choose from, some with larger work, some with lots of small tasks. It depends on which project you are attached to and what their applications are. I suspect that you are running Seti and that you have an Astropulse. You can disable running those in your Seti preferences. See this FAQ for the steps to follow.

Do know that although Seti runs on BOINC, that this forum isn't here to ask for help on Seti (or any other project for that matter). The Project's own forums are better suited for that.
