Last modified: 25 Apr 2009, 2:05:44 UTC

I just upgraded yesterday and since then BOINC continually aborts tasks due to "Error while computing", then requests a new task, and does the same thing. So far, 7 tasks have aborted within the first 5 hours of running. Never had any problem w/ the previous version.

Any help greatly appreciated

They all exited with "boinc_graphics_make_shmem failed: 0" after "No heartbeat from core client for 30 sec - exiting" and restart.
Here a clickable reference to 1211777291.

Make sure your preferences, both in the web preferences and in the local preferences (if you use those) do not allow for the CPU(s) to be throttled.

That's not mine, I made yours clickable, but the workunit is suspicious. [edit] And has hit max error count. [/edit]

I agree the workunit looks bad, but I don't think it's the cause of darkmoebius's problem.

The three download errors are a well-known proxy server problem (SETI uses one to spread the load of distributing new applications, and some ISPs block it) in late February.

The compute error after 0 seconds seems to be a consistent problem on that particular host.

Then there are two errors in running (one of which we're discussing here), and a single 'home run' all on their lonesome with a goose egg. Unfortunately, not an unusual outcome for an Astropulse task.

What is the percentage of using CPU time in your preferences? (To repeat Ageless's question)

100%

Is that a problem? It's been set to that for years with this PC without any trouble.

The problem presents itself on Multi-core systems but not on single CPU system.

No, anything other than 100% could be a problem (on multi-core systems).
