Hi.
With this new release, the french locale doesn't work.
I see everything in english.
My default language was French Canadian, and French doesn't work any better.

Regards,
François

This is now fixed in the new 6.4.6 that's available from the download site. Just download it again, then uninstall your present 6.4.6 and install the new one. Doing a repair won't work as that will use the old MSI file, with all the broken locale links in it.

Seems like the new 6.4.6 setup file for Windows is broken. I get "Error reading setup initialization file" on three different machines, on XP, on Vista and on Windows 7. 6.4.5 works fine as does the 6.6.11.

Could you try re-downloading the installation package and try the install again?

OK, there was a problem with the upload of the new file to the file server. Rom is busy fixing that one now. I can't say when it will be fixed, but let's say, try again in an hour.

Did you download the new BOINC earlier today, or just this minute? I ask as this problem was fixed in a newer version of 6.4.6, that was added just tonight (about an hour ago). It can still take a little time to migrate to the mirrors, though.

Just downloaded it again, and still giving the "Error reading setup initialization file" error message.
Congrats guys, we went from something not working properly to something that doesn't even install anymore...

All right, last night during the upload something went wrong with the upload of 6.4.6 which may have caused it not to propagate to all download mirrors yet. So the one from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php may be broken.

However, the one on the actual download site can be reached and is OK. I just tested it.

So if you have a problem with the download, get 6.4.6 from here:
BOINC 6.4.6 Windows 32bit
BOINC 6.4.6 Windows 64bit

It is probably wise to delete your temporary internet files before downloading the new one, just in case.

I have found that when a download fails I can force a new download by using CTRL-F5 and avoid deleting my temporary files.
For example, with http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.4.6_windows_intelx86.exe
in the address bar, if you click on refresh or hit F5 you may get the same corrupted download. Using CTRL-F5 forces a new download.

I just read where 6.4.6 was withdrawn. Possibly the locale problem is inherent in the build and not a corrupted download. Yesterday, I installed 6.4.6 on all non-cuda systems. I hope it is working.

No, the locale works okay now with the 6.4.6 I was finally able to download.

To the mods: is there something else broken in 6.4.6 which explain the withdraw, please?

Regards,
François

BOINC 6.4.6 was withdrawn from the Download page as people were still getting the broken version. So the developers will build BOINC 6.4.7 and release that one.
