6.20 October 2012 Fixed: Sometimes failed to throttle, within a minute at startup. Now shows xx1,xx2,xxx for detecting idle processes. At point xxx the process is no longer throttled. TThrottle The way to control your CPU and GPU temperature. BoincTasks The best view of BOINC. My other activities |

6.30 October 2012 New: Threat as in use, when specific programs are running. Makes it possible to throttle differently when a program is running. TThrottle The way to control your CPU and GPU temperature. BoincTasks The best view of BOINC. My other activities |

6.31 November 2012 Fixed: A rare but serious bug, that crashes TThrottle as soon as it connects to BOINC. Happens only when TThrottle runs as user and after: 1) BOINC crashes. 2) The BOINC installer runs. Fixed: Typo in temperature Dialog 16->15. TThrottle The way to control your CPU and GPU temperature. Fantasic programme, I would appreciate it if there was an OSX version. Sadly my programming skills are limited to Java. If I had an OSX system I would certainly make one. TThrottle The way to control your CPU and GPU temperature. BoincTasks The best view of BOINC. My other activities |

I tried 6.3X on an i7-2720QM. Total failure again. W/O BOINC and TThrottle the machine runs in the 40's C. I installed TThrottle prior to BOINC. The scan ran up into the 80's C and settled back near the preset 50 C. Then I installed BOINC and the temps blew right through to the high 80's. With temps w/o BOINC in the 40's, I see no reason to question the thermal paste. http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

With temps w/o BOINC in the 40's, I see no reason to question the thermal paste. What is ambient temperature? Im C2D E6750 idle temp is about 40C (ambient about 21C) and after running full temps rise to 75C. I think that my stock cooler or thermal paste is giving me problems. |

I'm having a similar problem, except with my ati hd5670 gpu. Note that I don't see any gpu apps detected in the main window. Running Tt 6.31 and boinc 7.0.28 (recently dowgraded from .42) |

With temps w/o BOINC in the 40's, I see no reason to question the thermal paste. First, this machine is used both at home and at work. At work, the temperature is around 70 deg F. At home it is about 66 deg F. Second, there is nothing else about which I have ever seen the question of coolers and thermal paste raised. If BOINC is to not only survive but thrive, then it needs to attract and keep people from the general population who, while they can afford decent computers, and can be interested in crunching, have no idea what are coolers, heat sinks and thermal paste. That means that the coders at Berkeley and at the projects need to get heat out of the equation. I am not saying I have any idea how they can do that, I am just an ordinary person, not an I/T person. http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

I've solved my problem with the GPU. Turns out TThrottle wasn't connected to the BOINC client properly. Under the BOINC column when I unchecked and checked "Connect to BOINC client" the "Connected with BOINC client" message shows up and GPU tasks are detected and throttled as advertised in the Programs tab. I don't suppose it'd work to throttle non-BOINC GPU programs in the current config but I'm not fussed about that.... :) |

TThrottle (and BOINCTasks) were specifically developed to work with BOINC, so your supposition is right. ;>) If you have BOINCTasks also running and allow TThrottle to interact with BOINCTasks and v.v, you can even see the hosts CPU temps in there and efficiency %, translating average throttle with which tasks are allowed to run. I am one of those ordinary people; sort of. Database developer with i7-3820 16gig. I will add fans but this thing should not require special equipment. I have been on BOINC for more than 5 years. The latest does not work for me. Run for a couple hours, heat goes crazy, and sends my rig into a tailspin. Alan |

i7-3820 16gig. My girlfriend has an i7-2600K with 6 case fans and her machine is still overheating... she doesn't run BOINC. Just gaming (e.g. Skyrim) will kill her machine due to overheating videocard within the hour. i7s get hot. All of them. Get super good cooling. Not just fans, but take care on what you buy for heat sink as well. Or use H2O cooling. |

TThrottle (and BOINCTasks) were specifically developed to work with BOINC, so your supposition is right. ;>) The temp sensor for the CPU doesn't seem to work, but I bought a buff 12" heatsink+fan along with my new toy (AMD Phenom X6 1090T 3.2GHz) so I'm not worried there ;) It should be noted that that my old clunky Radeon ATI HD5670 gfx card smokes the CPU for points generated though, even when underclocked and throttled :S |

I've installed today EFMER TTHROTLE Great job !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will now using it all the time. My configuration : GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 430 @ 2.27GHz [Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 2] (4 processeurs) Microsoft Windows 8 Professional x86 Edition, (06.02.9200.00) Tthrotle does a great job and successfull regule the temperature ! Thanks, i think i will make a donation ! |

Hey hi Tthrottle users. I'm encountering a small problem. I installed Tthrottle and it seems to be working fine : the graphics show the temperature increasing, etc. I have also checked "automatic activation" (or whatever it's called in the English version). However it doesn't seem to control the temperature: I've run Minecraft (which is a Java application that uses hardware-acceleration 3D libraries) and I see the temperature go way above the 80°C that I set up: it went close to 90°C (at this stage I got scared and I closed Minecraft -- the very reason why I installed Tthrottle is because during my two previous attemps Minecraft provoked a blue screen after a few minutes of game). Did I gorget something? Is it an incompatibility with my hardware? For the record: I have an Acer Aspire M5810 (exact model: FF7R), which contains a GeForce GT 220 and an Intel Core i5-750. There is only 2GB RAM. |

I see you double posted the request. You fixed the problem by cleaning out the fan. http://www.efmer.eu/forum_tt/index.php?topic=1041 TThrottle The way to control your CPU and GPU temperature. BoincTasks The best view of BOINC. My other activities |

6.60 May 2013 New: Supports multiple BOINC clients on localhost. Changed: Redesigned program list. Fixed: Sometimes failed to throttle in driver mode (Vista and up), with more than 10 processes. 6.50 May 2013 New: A child process now shows run %. New: Temperature offset in Expert dialog. Set to 15C on AMD 15h Family. Fixed: If the run% can't be read, assume 100%, until now a value of -1 was used. TThrottle The way to control your CPU and GPU temperature.
