Ok I am very new to Linux (running Fedora core 9) and I'm trying to love it, but it's a tough relationship so far. I have installed BOINC client and manager using yum. I set the client to run as a daemon at startup. the client runs as seen from this command. $ ps aux | grep boinc boinc 3773 0.1 0.1 10060 2176 ? SNs 13:34 0:04 /usr/bin/boinc_client --daemon I startup the BOINC manager and go to Advanced -> Select Computer and put in "localhost" and the password that I stuck in /var/lib/boinc/gui_rpc_auth.cfg all I get is a disconnected status message in the manager. If I try to attach to a project it says "connecting to localhost" for a few seconds, then "disconnected" I have tried so many commands I can't remember what all I've done, but I appreciate any help. Thanks UPDATE: Fixed my problem following instructions in this post. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=3296&nowrap=true#21210 |
