I'm using BOINC client 6.2.19 and nVidia video driver 178.24 (WHQL). I've got two GeForce 8800GTS 512MB cards running in SLI mode. When starting up the BOINC client, this is what it says in Messages: 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Starting BOINC client version 6.2.19 for windows_intelx86 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Libraries: libcurl/7.18.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8e zlib/1.2.3 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Data directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Running under account DefaultUser 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 6] 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 mmx 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional x86 Editon, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00) 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Memory: 2.00 GB physical, 3.85 GB virtual 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Disk: 232.88 GB total, 35.01 GB free 10/24/2008 11:15:54 AM||Local time is UTC -4 hours There's no mention of CUDA devices detected. I've looked in my WINDOWS\System32 folder and nvcuda.dll is there. Couldn't find anything in the FAQ or Wiki, so I thought I'd post. Am I just overlooking something? Was there something I was supposed to check when I initially installed the BOINC client? |

BOINC 6.2.x doesn't have CUDA support. It was added in 6.3 |

I'm using BOINC v.6.4.1 and newest nVidia driver for my GTX280 1GB card. When I start BOINC, messages says this: 22.11.2008 11:51:42||Starting BOINC client version 6.4.1 for windows_intelx86 22.11.2008 11:51:42||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops 22.11.2008 11:51:42||Libraries: libcurl/7.19.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8i zlib/1.2.3 22.11.2008 11:51:42||Running as a daemon 22.11.2008 11:51:42||Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 22.11.2008 11:51:42||Running under account boinc_master 22.11.2008 11:51:43||Processor: 4 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 7] 22.11.2008 11:51:43||Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 pni mmx 22.11.2008 11:51:43||OS: Microsoft Windows Vista: Ultimate x86 Editon, Service Pack 1, (06.00.6001.00) 22.11.2008 11:51:43||Memory: 3.50 GB physical, 7.20 GB virtual 22.11.2008 11:51:43||Disk: 465.75 GB total, 373.92 GB free 22.11.2008 11:51:43||Local time is UTC +1 hours 22.11.2008 11:51:43||Not using a proxy 22.11.2008 11:51:43||No CUDA devices found 22.11.2008 11:51:43||No coprocessors 22.11.2008 11:51:43||Version change (6.3.21 -> 6.4.1) Question is why CUDA is not detected? Messages like this was in the last version of BOINC (6.3.21) too. I know it's a test version, but I'll be happy if someone could help me. |

I'm using BOINC v.6.4.1 and newest nVidia driver for my GTX280 1GB card. Because you're probably using the wrong driver. You need the CUDA enabling drivers. See http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html for the driver. |

I'm using BOINC v.6.4.1 and newest nVidia driver for my GTX280 1GB card. I guess the problem is that you installed BOINC as a service (protected mode)? On Vista it is necessary to not install BOINC as a service, to make it recognize the GPU... |
