Hello,

I am running SETI on BOINC 5.2.13 and am finding that as a work unit is completed my total credit and average credit is not increasing. Is this occuring with anybody elses accounts and does anybody know what the problem might be?

Daniel,

Which project/projects are you running? Many of the projects have built-in redundancy (several host machines crunching the same workunit), and require a quorum to be established before calculating granted credit. If you go to your account page and click on "view results", then click on the workunit ID of one of your completed workunits, you should be able to see what other hosts are co-crunching with you.

Thanks for the information. When I look at the the RESULTS FOR USER page and there is a 'pending' under 'granted credit' this mean that a quorum of computers has to have completed the work unit. The quorum number seems to be 4 at present. This mean that when the last work unit has been returned for a particular quorum the credit is then granted and can suddenly appear in TOTAL CREDIT in BOINC Manager. Is this the way it works?

I understand 'minimum quorum' to mean that the number of results returned must equal the minimum quorum for credit to be granted. Is this correct.

Credit is granted after a quorum (3 for Seti) has been returned and at least 2 pass validation....If you do not pass validation you can have a successful (but not valid) WU and no credits will be issued...

Jim forgot to tell you that this and more are explained in the Wiki...

Look up Quorum of Results and Credit and spend the next week chasing down the cross-references ... :)
