I tried logging in on this message board for the first time, but it didn't work: I wanted to look up my password and entered my email address but it wasn't valid. I'm sure it was 100% correct. I then tried the account key method by reading the XML file. Didn't work either... I've registered a new account with my email address as work around... |

Um... you have an account_*.xml file for this "project"? You must be the only one. ;-) These are the BOINC Development forums. We don't crunch anything. There's no work to be done here, never was. So I assume that you meant another project, perhaps Seti@Home? You are welcome on these forums, though. :-) |

I have same problem. It has nothing to do with any project. I come to this board, and in order to be able to post, i have to 'login'. email/pass which i use for account manager BAM doesn't work. Question - what do i have to use? I did the same as JorisVD - i created a account. This works, as you can see, but does that mean i have two unrelated accounts now - one for BAM and other for forums? |

Yes, you DO have 2 separate accounts. This board where you are now is just a help desk for problems with BOINC. It's nothing to do with any projects, and even though it's sited in the same place as the SETI project, this is only because both were created by the same person. And, because this is not a project, you can't use BAM to get here. |

It'll be worse even: For every project that you attach to, you have to make a separate account. For Einstein, CPDN, Seti, Hydrogen, Leiden Classical, NQueens, Yoyo, uFluids, etc. etc. ... for each project you will need to make a separate account to log in with. Just make sure you use the same email address for BOINC to know that it's you on all these projects. Your email address is your unique identifier. |

This is again a perfect example of a project that originated from an IT brain. Just try to explain all this to a regular user who read something ten years ago about Seti@Home becoming so popular and wants to join in now that BOINC exists, which should it make really easy to work on several projects in one central application. But anyway, thanks for the explanation! :) |

This is again a perfect example of a project that originated from an IT brain. Each project is completely independent. Next you'll complain you can't login to hotmail using your yahoo account? |
