I've got a couple of machines that I've got BOINC running pretty much set-n-forget with (BAM BoincStats to see what they are doing when I remember but that's it) ... I'd love to have the client auto-update to the latest and greatest when it's released so I don't have to know (or care) what's going on. Sure, it's lazy and marks me out as not really being a geek but I just want to donate some cycles and not really have to care about it ;) Oh, and yes, it's the Windows client I want updating. Not sure if it makes it harder but I run as service on all the machines. One is a Windows Home Server and the others are my wife and daughters desktop machines so I just want it running (getting out of the way when they want to use their machine) with no intervention... That has already been in the works a while ago, but there are security issues, so I think it's mostly abandoned. |
