BOINC v6.2.14 was recently announced as the current public version to use, and as recently as 5Aug08 v6.2.14 was linked from "Download".

However, today 06Aug08, "Download" links to 5.10.45 and 6.2.14 is listed as "For Testing ONLY".

I'm currently using 5.10.45 under WinXP Pro SP3 and was going to update to 6.2.14 - UNTIL I saw the Testing Only caveat today.

Please advise.

6.2.14 has been temporarily withdrawn until the developers can find out why on Vista systems mostly, the "run only when idle" detection breaks when someone reboots. So far I haven't seen anyone report it yet with an earlier version of Windows and I sure can't reproduce it on my Win2k and XP systems.

So if you don't have Vista, just go for it.
