In case you're wanting to stay up-to-date and didn't know it, Firefox 3 came out today. Go fetch it from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I believe that is dependent on the distro. I'm using Kubuntu and it updated (meta package) to the stable release shortly after Mozilla released.
